Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Glimpse (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you use tryglimpse.fun and the Glimpse application (the “Service”).
Effective June 11, 2026
1. Who is responsible for your data
Glimpse is operated by the individual founder of tryglimpse.fun. For privacy questions or requests, contact contact@tryglimpse.fun.
2. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to visitors of our website, users who create an account, and anyone who interacts with Glimpse features such as groups, messaging, payments, or newsletters. The Service is intended for users aged 16 and over.
3. Data we collect
Account and authentication: phone number, verification codes (processed for login), account identifiers, and session data. Profile and identity: six-emoji identity, nickname chosen at signup, emoji pack preference, and Plus status. Content and activity: daily Glimpses (photos and text), group membership, messages, connection and spark activity, reports you submit, and related metadata such as timestamps. Payments: payment status, purchase type, subscription status, and Stripe customer identifiers. We do not store full card numbers. Communications: if you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address. Device and technical data: push notification tokens (if enabled), browser or device type, IP address, and basic logs needed to secure and operate the Service.
4. How we use your data
We use personal data to: create and secure your account; place you into groups and deliver daily prompts; show anonymous identities and later reveal nicknames where the product allows; operate chat, connections, sparks, and archives; process payments and unlock paid features; send product notifications you opt into; enforce safety rules and respond to reports; prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents; improve and maintain the Service; and comply with legal obligations.
5. Legal bases (EEA and UK users)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, moderation, and improving the product, balanced against your rights); consent (for optional newsletter signup and push notifications where required); and legal obligation (where we must retain or disclose data to comply with law).
6. What other users can see
Your phone number is not shown to other users. In groups, people initially see your six-emoji identity and your daily Glimpses. Nicknames and additional identity details may become visible in connections, sparks, or chat according to the product flow. Other users cannot browse a public profile of you.
7. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run Glimpse, including Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), Upstash (rate limiting), and web push infrastructure. These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards and only as needed to deliver their services.
8. International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including the United States and the European Economic Area, depending on where our providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
9. Retention
We retain data for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business purposes. Some posts expire from active feeds after a short period, while archives, messages, payment records, safety reports, and account data may be kept longer for product functionality, dispute resolution, safety, and legal compliance. We delete or anonymise data when it is no longer needed, unless we must keep it by law.
10. Safety and moderation
If you report content or are reported, we may review the relevant post, message, account, and group context, including data accessible to moderators, to investigate and take action. This may include suspending accounts or removing content.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal data, and to receive a copy of data you provided (data portability). You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise these rights, email contact@tryglimpse.fun from the email or phone associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you are in the EEA or UK, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by emailing contact@tryglimpse.fun. We will process verified requests within a reasonable period, subject to legal retention requirements and safety needs (for example, retaining reports or payment records where required). Some anonymised or aggregated data may be kept.
13. Security
We use technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections, access controls, and rate limiting. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to reduce risk and respond to incidents.
14. Children
Glimpse is not intended for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you acknowledge the updated policy.
